What are the standard rates for said industries in New York? I may have a potential client that wants to have a release party next month and will be releasing an independent CD next month as well. | marianna | Posted – 8/25/2008 8:50:18 PM | show profile Hi Mat, In LA, an indie film or music publicist will charge from $1800-$3000 a month + expenses. And that's just to provide the basics; I suspect NYC will be a bit more. If the client also wants an event or a press junket, the price will naturally go up. The most lucrative times are during a film festival when a publicist can do four or five films at once and gets lots of support from the festival people, who have a vested interest in helping her/him succeed. No matter what, always get paid in ADVANCE--otherwise, you'll find yourself being offered "points" on their film! |
